Apache Elementary third graders win reading contest

FARMINGTON — A third-grade class at Farmington's Apache Elementary School recently visited the Texas Roadhouse restaurant after winning a school-wide reading contest.

The school partnered with the restaurant for the contest in October.

Students in Nancy Brummell’s classroom won the reading contest after they read 249 books.

A total of 1,484 books were read school-wide during the contest.

The students visited the restaurant on Jan. 5 and learned line dancing, made dinner rolls in the restaurant’s kitchen and participated in serving contests.
