San Juan County students graduate from college

Several local students are among those who graduated April 30 from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo.

The local students include:

  • Darrwyn Baldwin, of Waterflow, who graduated with a major in chemistry.
  • Lyle Barber, of Aztec, who graduated with a major in sociology/human services.
  • Taylor Bennett-Begaye, of Fruitland, who graduated with a major in art.
  • Rena Burns, of Bloomfield, who graduated with a major in student-constructed major.
  • Kelsey Charley, of Shiprock, who graduated with a major in chemistry.
  • Matthew Devore, of Shiprock, who graduated with a major in accounting.
  • Lauren Hammond, of Farmington, who graduated with a major in political science.
  • Ian Hensler, of Aztec, who graduated with a major in physics.
  • Daveena John, of Farmington, who graduated with a major in elementary education.
  • Tashina Largo, of Crownpoint, who graduated with a major in art.
  • Daisy Latta, of Aztec, who graduated summa cum laude with a major in art.
  • Ralina Lowley, of Kirtland, who graduated magna cum laude with a major in psychology.
  • Joseph Mbuga, of Farmington, who graduated with a major in political science.
  • Jody Mike-Bidtah, of Shiprock, who graduated with a major in environmental studies.
  • Samantha Modrell, of Durango, who graduated with a major in political science.
  • Jasmine Neves, of Aztec, who graduated cum laude with a major in business administration.
  • Charmayne Smith, of Crownpoint, who graduated with a major in accounting.
  • Lynnea Smith, of Crownpoint, who graduated with a major in history.
  • William Toledo, of Crownpoint, who graduated with a major in engineering.
  • Dominique Wilson, of Farmington, who graduated magna cum laude with a major in elementary education.

In other graduation news, Linda Jacobson-Quinn, of Aztec, graduated from Bismarck State College in Bismarck, N.D., with bachelor’s degree in energy management during the school’s commencement ceremony on May 13.
