Local 4-H air rifle team wins 1st at nationals

FARMINGTON — The San Juan County 4-H Air Rifle team won a national title at the 2016 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships June 26 to July 1 in Grand Island, Neb.

The local team consisted of Kimberly Hull, Michaela Langlitz, Rashel Korte and Jeana Dolan. The members earned spots on the team by doing well at county competitions.

At nationals, the air rifle team won first place. Hull also won the first-place prize for the high individual and Langlitz claimed second place.

This was the first time New Mexico won the national air rifle title.
