FARMINGTON — Mosaic Academy Charter School hosted a family literacy game night on April 28 at the school in Aztec.

The event included activities centered around reading, such as games and craft projects. After each activity, students earned a raffle ticket for a Kindle Fire, donated by Clean Rite Janitorial Services. Adrian Martinez, a graduate of the school, won the item.

The night was the culmination of school-wide project promoting literacy that the school launched earlier this year.

The school hosted a family literacy night in February to kick off the Literacy Challenge Project.

Students in kindergarten through eighth grades logged how many minutes they read.

Each age level had specific goals, and once those goals were met, students were entered into a drawing for a bicycle and helmet, donated by Target. First-grade student Xavier Lopez won that drawing.
