FARMINGTON — Wines of the San Juan recently brought home 16 medals from the 2016 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.

The winery in Blanco won 11 silver and five bronze medals, according to a press release it issued.

Seven of those wines — a non-vintage Tribulation Reserve, a 2014 Blanco Rojo, a 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, a 2014 Symphony, a 2013 Pinot Gris, a 2011 Serendipity Merlot and a 2011 Dry Blue Winged Olive — are currently available for purchase at both the winery and retail sites.

The remaining nine were bottled for a bottling competition and are expected to be released later, the release states.

The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition is the largest such event to benefit charity. This year, more than 80 judges evaluated 3,824 wines from 26 countries and 916 wineries.
