Military news: Capt. Brad DeWees

Capt. Brad DeWees was selected for the chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force Captains prestigious doctorate program. The program teaches officers how to tackle difficult issues that the Air Force encounters.

DeWees is the son of Clint and Christie DeWees, of Farmington, and he is married to Kelly DeWees. He was home-schooled until the ninth grade and graduated from Piedra Vista High School in 2005. He later graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2009 as the top student of 1,000 cadets.

DeWees interned at the Pentagon for the summer prior to receiving a master's degree from Maryland University. DeWees is a professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy of Colorado Springs, Colo.
