Pets of the Week: Jan. 10

The Daily Times staff

Yodi: Yodi is a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who is an absolute doll with people but needs to be an only dog. He loves to smile, and he gives hugs. He is good on walks and is a dog walker favorite. He is a big dog, so be prepared for a daily walk, followed by a snuggle in the evening.

Charlie: This is a fun-loving, 2-year-old pit mix who is looking for an active family. She was surrendered due to landlord issues. She loves toys, and her previous owners stated she was house-trained and lived with kids. She can be a little wild when you first let her out of her kennel, but she settles nicely after that. A family that can keep her busy would be best.

Calla: Calla is a sweet, domestic, medium-hair mix who is looking for a home. She is just more than 1-year-old and is a playful, affectionate cat. She does have longer hair that will need brushed on a regular basis.

Idra: Idra is a 5-year-old tabby cat. She is a little more vocal and very friendly. She is confident and outgoing and would love to find a home of her own.

The Farmington Animal Shelter is located at 133 Browning Parkway and can be reached at 505-599-1098. Check for a up-to-date list of pets up for adoption.

Paddy: Paddy is a well-built, 6-year-old gelding. He has been treated harshly and is untrusting of humans, especially in small spaces.

Paddy is gentle and will need a person who can work with him to overcome his fear. He is not trained to ride. Staff at Four Corners Equine Rescue have started his training using natural horsemanship techniques, and he is responding well.

Paddy stands about 14.3 hands high and weighs about 1,000 pounds. He has great confirmation and will be an excellent trail partner.

Six lessons with a professional natural horsemanship trainer are included in the $300 adoption fee.  Paddy is current on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and farrier work.
