Pets of the Week: Jan. 3

The Daily Times staff

Leigh: Leigh is a shy but sweet boxer and Labrador mix who is only 1 year old. She can be timid at first, but just give her a minute to warm up and she can show you how sweet she is.

Emily: Emily is the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter's longest term resident and staff don't understand why. Emily is about 4 years old and is a fun, active dog who would just like to get out of the shelter and into a home.

Miss Kitty: Miss Kitty in a beautiful Siamese mix who is 10 years old. She is sweet and affectionate. She has lived with smaller dogs before but would prefer to be the only cat in the home so that she can take up all your lap space. Miss Kitty is in need of a retirement home instead of living out her golden years in the shelter.

Ci Ci: Ci Ci is a fun orange and white domestic long hair.  She is only 8 months old and looking for a little adventure and playtime. Ci Ci is outgoing and fun and would love to chase some cat toys around your home. She would do well with almost any family looking for an indoor kitty to love.

Cooper: Cooper was once a wild colt roaming free in the Thoreau area of New Mexico. Now he is a curious, albeit skeptical, 7-year-old gelding living at Four Corners Equine Rescue.

Cooper halters and stands for the farrier. He stands about 15 hands high and weighs about 800 pounds. His animated trot is beautiful to watch. The perfect home would be with a person who is willing to spend the time to grow the trust needed to continue Cooper's training using natural horsemanship techniques.

Cooper's adoption fee is $150 and includes six sessions with a professional trainer.
