Pets of the Week: Dec. 27
Tank: Tank is a 1-year-old pit bull and Labrador mix who is looking for a family to call his own. He will need a secured yard to romp and play in, but he's very friendly and outgoing and would make a great dog for an active couple or family with older kids. Tank is the perfect age to start learning all the commands and tricks you could teach a dog.
Maddie: Maddie is a sweet, young pit bull mix. She is eight months old and is not a large dog at only 40 pounds.
She is young and eager to please and doesn't want to spend any more time at the shelter; she wants to be home! Maddie would fit in with most families looking for a fun, playful dog.
Pinto: It's hard to believe but Pinto has been at the shelter since April when he came in as a baby. Pinto is now all grown up and looking for a lap to call his own. Pinto is a gorgeous nine-month-old orange tabby. Pinto will need a little time to adjust to a home since he's been in the shelter so long, but he is friendly and outgoing and would love to call your house his home.
Ella: Ella is a 1-year-old, black-and-white, domestic long-hair. She is friendly and curious. Ella is affectionate and would love to chase a few kitty toys and then curl up in your lap to relax.
The Farmington Animal Shelter is located at 133 Browning Parkway and can be reached at 505-599-1098. Check Petfinder.com for a up-to-date list of pets up for adoption.
Beau: Beau is a 4-year-old gelding from the Gallup area. He is not rideable due to extensive damage to both hind legs from wire. It looks like the wire wrapped around both hind legs, and the injuries were not treated. Because of that, Beau doesn't have full use of the tendons and is handicapped.
Beau has also undergone surgery to his nasal cavity on the right side on his face. This surgery was successful in stopping the constant drainage Four Corners Equine Rescue staff saw from his right nostril. This was probably due to the halter that was too small and embedded itself in his face.
He is a very smart horse and wants to be friends with people. As Beau was formally a wild horse, he will need a patient person to bond with. His adoption fee is $150.
