Pets of the Week: Dec. 20

The Daily Times staff

Haley: Haley is a 1½-year-old domestic short hair. She is gorgeous with her black-and-white tuxedo coat. Haley is sweet and shy and would love a home where she could explore and then cuddle on your lap.

Jynx: Jynx is a female snowshoe, lynx point Siamese mix. She is only 6 months old and a big ball of fluff. Jynx has an adoption fee of only $25 during the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter's "Home for the Holidays" special.

Stryker: This is a 2½-year-old blue heeler mix. Stryker is a lot of fun and prances and bounces when he gets excited. He does well when meeting other dogs and is simply a sweetheart. He would make a great addition to any family

Nefertiti: Nefertiti is a 4-year-old heeler mix. She recently finished her heartworm treatment and is now looking for a place to call home. Nefertiti doesn't like to potty in her kennel so the shelter staff consider her house-trained. She is very sweet and fun. She would like to remind everyone to keep your pets on monthly heartworm prevention.

The Farmington Animal Shelter is located at 133 Browning Parkway and can be reached at 505-599-1098. Check for a up-to-date list of pets up for adoption.

Ruth: Ruth is a beautiful 6-year-old mare. Once a wild horse, Ruth came to Four Corners Equine Rescue after being captured as part of a "trespass" herd on U.S. Forest Service land near Cuba.

Pregnant at the time, her baby has since moved on and now Ruth is ready for a new home, too. She halters, leads, loads and stands for the farrier. Ruth is not saddle trained and will require the patient hands of an experienced person to continue her training using natural horsemanship techniques. She's a good girl and tries to please.

Her adoption fee is $150 and that includes four lessons with a natural horsemanship trainer for Ruth and her adopter.
