Computer Basics Mac Attack: Piedra Vista High School teacher Amanda Garcia will lead a class starting Sept. 7 on using Apple products, such as iPhones, iPads and MacBooks. The class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at San Juan College, 4601 College Blvd. in Farmington. The Encore class has a 20-student maximum. Register in advance.

Computer Basics I: Learn how to use a computer during an Encore class starting Sept. 20. The class will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays at San Juan College, 4601 College Blvd. in Farmington. Starting Sept. 12, the class will also be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays at the San Juan College West Campus, 69 Road 6500 in Kirtland. Another class will be offered starting Sept. 13 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Bloomfield Senior Center, 124 W. Ash Ave. in Bloomfield.

Mountain Biking Basics: Experience mountain biking in the Four Corners through an Encore class. Bring your own bike or rent a bike and helmet from the Outdoor Equipment Rental Center for $50. Students will be required to transport their bikes to the various trailheads in the area. Starting Sept. 6, the class will meet from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first class will meet at San Juan College, 4601 College Blvd. in Farmington. Students who are comfortable on a bike and can ride for up to two hours can opt to take "Mountain Biking: What’s Next" class, which will meet starting Sept. 20.

Random Acts of Kindness: Learn about how kindness can change the world and participate in weekly challenges, discussions and personal reflection during an Encore class starting Sept. 19. The class will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. Mondays at San Juan College, 4601 College Blvd. in Farmington.

Early Lace Making: Michele Truby-Tillen will lead a class on lace making that starts Sept. 13. The class will teach two early forms of making lace, and students will learn how to create pieces of art using locally accessible supplies. The class will meet from 6 to 8:50 p.m. Tuesdays at San Juan College, 4601 College Blvd. in Farmington.

With all Encore classes, residents 65 and older will pay $5.74 per credit hour. Younger students pay $46.75 per credit hour. Nonresidents pay $146.75 per credit hour. For more information, call 505-566-3214 or go
