Pets of the Week: Aug. 2

Dogs
Bear: Bear is a lovable 6-year-old chow mix. Nothing makes her happier than being with people, and she loves going from person to person to receive attention. She is pretty easy going and enjoys laying around and enjoying the sunshine. She is not too interested in toys but will play with them occasionally. She is ready to go to her new home.
Louie: Louie is just a nice guy. He's got a pleasant, laid-back personality that would fit with any family. Daily walks would be welcome. He likes his toys! And he would love to be a part of your family.
Cats
Ana: Ana is a gorgeous calico whose face will grab your attention. She is extremely friendly, and she enjoys lots of attention. She likes to talk and will let you know exactly what is on her mind. Calicos always have lots to say. She would appreciate a home with cat toys to entertain her.
Olive: Olive is a big, beautiful girl that is ready for her forever home. She is a stunningly marked cat. She is looking for her forever home where she can sun herself and relax and be adored by a family that will treat her with the love she deserves. She isn't fond about being picked up and held, but absolutely loves being petted and told how beautiful she is. She is ready to go home with you and become part of your family.
The Farmington Animal Shelter is located at 133 Browning Parkway and can be reached at 505-599-1098. Check Petfinder.com for a up-to-date list of pets up for adoption.
Horse
Paddy: Paddy is a well-built, 5-year-old gelding. He is a domestic horse, but has been treated harshly and is untrusting of humans, especially in small spaces.
Paddy is gentle and will need a person who can work with him to overcome his fear. He is not trained to ride. Staff at Four Corners Equine Rescue have started his training using natural horsemanship techniques, and he is responding well.
Paddy stands about 14.3 hands high and weighs about 1,000 pounds. He has great confirmation and will be an excellent trail partner. Six lessons with a professional natural horsemanship trainer are included in the adoption fee, which is $400. Paddy is current on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and farrier work.
