Pets of the Week: July 5

The Daily Times staff, Farmington Daily Times

Morty: Morty is a 1-year-old Retriever mix looking for a forever home. He is full of life and energy. He likes to play with toys and take long walks. Morty is a big guy that gets along with most dogs.

Kya: Kya has been calling the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter his home since Jan. 16, and the shelter staff want him to find his forever home. Kya has a goofy personality and needs a new best friend who will help teach him some manners.  Kya is a ticket-out dog, and his new owner will receive five free lessons from New Mexico Badlands Search and Rescue.

Puss in Boots

Puss in Boots: This is a laid-back gal that loves attention. When you open the kennel door, she is always at the front looking to get pet. She likes to stretch out and soak up the sun as she looks out the window. If you are looking for a new furry friend, stop in and meet her.

Sike: Sike is an orange male tabby that is looking for a new place to call home. He wants to explore and play until it is time to curl up on your lap and take a nap. Sike is neutered and ready to go home today.

The Farmington Animal Shelter is located at 133 Browning Parkway and can be reached at 505-599-1098. Check for a up-to-date list of pets up for adoption.

Shamrock: Shamrock is a very gentle and people-friendly 6-year-old gelding.

He is at least part Appaloosa and stands about 15 hands high. A very smart and quick student, Shamrock has completed his ground training with flying colors and has been started for saddle training.

The right home for Shamrock will be with someone who is willing to continue his training using natural horsemanship techniques.

This young man is well versed in trailer loading, standing for the farrier and round pen work. The adoption fee for Shamrock is $500.
