Pets of the Week: May 3

The Daily Times staff

Kee: This is a sweet, fluffy and cuddly 2-year-old shepherd looking for a new place to call home. He is great with people and other dogs. He is almost house trained, so it wouldn’t take much training once he got to a new home.

Danya: Danya is a very active Rottweiler mix. She can be a bit choosy on her dog friends, so it is recommended you bring your dog to the shelter to meet her first.  She is a strong girl who will need an owner who can train her and teach her proper manners and walking skills.

Daisy: This is a playful 8-month-old pit bull mix looking for an active home. She would like to be included in the daily activities with her new family and be a member of the family.

Chamo: A unique guy with a goofy personality, Chamo likes all people and dogs he meets. He is looking for a place where he can become part of the family.  Chamo is a 2-year-old border collie mix.

The Farmington Animal Shelter is located at 133 Browning Parkway and can be reached at 505-599-1098. Check for a up-to-date list of pets up for adoption.

Ruth is a beautiful 6-year-old mare.

Once a wild horse, she came to Four Corners Equine Rescue after being captured as part of a "trespass" herd on U.S. Forest Service land near Cuba. Pregnant at the time, her baby has since moved on, and now Ruth is also ready for a new home.

She halters, leads, loads and stands for the farrier. Ruth is not saddle trained and will require the patient hands of an experienced person to continue her training using natural horsemanship techniques.  She's a good girl, and tries to please.

Ruth’s adoption fee is $350, which includes four lessons with a natural horsemanship trainer for both the horse and its new owner.
