Anniversary: Johnnie and Lucy Franchini

Johnnie and Lucy Franchini recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Johnnie and Lucy Franchini, of Aztec, celebrated their diamond 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 26. They enjoyed their anniversary with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Johnnie and Lucy will receive a marriage blessing during Sunday Mass today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Flora Vista.

Johnnie was stationed at Limestone U.S. Air Force base in Caribou, Maine, when he met a nurse, Lucy Ome. They were married Nov. 26, 1955, in Brunswick, Maine.

Johnnie is a retired engineer from El Paso Natural Gas Co., and he enjoys hunting and fishing. Lucy is a retired nurse, and she enjoys painting and cooking.

The couple have three children, John Franchini, of Aztec, James Franchini, of Huntsville, Ala., and Joe Franchini, of Slayton, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Jana, Joni, Melony, Amanda, Elisha, Joshua, Leia, Samuel and KayLynn; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Shelby and Josephine.
