FARMINGTON — The Bonnie Dallas Senior Center and New Mexico State University will be offering five additional Ideas for Cooking and Nutrition classes.

There were five classes offered in May and June. The classes' popularity led to the two organizations adding five more weeks of classes.

The classes meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 16, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30, as well as Oct. 7 and Oct. 14 at the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center annex, 208 N. Wall Ave.

They are free, and the goal is to teach participants to make healthy food choices while living on a limited budget and to choose a physically active lifestyle, according to organizers.

Lessons will include Plan, Shop and Save; Get Moving; Fruits and Veggies: Half Your Plate; Make Half of Your Grains Whole, Build Strong Bones; Go Lean with Protein; Make a Change and Celebrating Your Success.
