Relay for Life in Farmington starts at noon Saturday
FARMINGTON — The annual Relay for Life fundraiser kicks off at noon Saturday at the Human Health and Performance Center on the San Juan College campus, 4601 College Blvd.
The event, which lasts 12 hours, raises money for cancer research.
Teams sell food and items like key chains to raise money during the event. Donors also can purchase luminarias in honor, support or memory of someone who has or has had cancer. At 9 p.m., the luminarias will be lit.
All the money raised goes to the American Cancer Society. The relay also raises awareness for the services offered by the American Cancer Society.
While the majority of people who participate in Relay for Life are on teams, individuals can attend and walk as many laps as they want to raise money for the research.
Donations can also be made to teams or the event online at relayforlife.org/farmingtonnm.
