Six other cool spots at Sunland Park Mall
Sunland Park Mall has been attracting tenants apart from the usual clothes retailers in the past few years. Here is a reminder of some cool reasons to head to the mall.
Fun reading nook
On the same end as the Food Court, visitors will find the Book Nook, a quiet and fun place for young children to pick up a book and sit on a variety of fun seating areas. The books are on the shelves and offer a variety, including picture books.
Sun City Kitty
Earlier this year, some friends opened up the Sun City Kitty cafe, a place where people can order a coffee and pay a nominal fee for cuddling with kitties.
It costs $7 to play in the kitty room for 30 minutes. The cats have a cute space with built-in benches where people can sit with the cats or play on the floor.
The cats are adoptable and often are shared on the cafe's Instagram account.
Play volleyball at the mall
In 2021, Sunland Park Mall unveiled an indoor volleyball court that is used by the private Wolf Pack Volleyball Club.
The club has a Facebook page where it announces tryouts and open gym. So, check it out if your kids want to hone their skills.
Take up art at Art Nova Gallery
Talk about a quiet space to learn about art. Art Nova Gallery, located in the lower level under the food court, features art made by local artists.
It also offers art classes for various ages. El Paso upcoming artist Chance Bailey usually can be found there honing his skills with gallery owner Raafat Maximos.
Take an aerial silk class
Can't get excited about exercising? Try an intro to aerial silks, pole or hoops class at the Academy of Aerial Fitness, on the lower level. There are also tumbling and dance classes.
The gym also offers free gym time for members. For more information, go to Academy of Aerial Fitness
Play chess in the Food Court
The Food Court offers a variety of food from pizza and Mexican to barbecue, hot dogs and sweet treats.
Try out one of the spots and then wait for your food by playing chess with some oversized pieces. There also are a couple of toss games available for use.
