FARMINGTON — Auditions for children's parts in the Sandstone Productions summer presentation of DreamWorks' "Shrek The Musical" will take place Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Farmington Civic Center, the production's producer says.

Civic Center Supervisor Lisa Hutchens said in a press release that Sandstone Productions has not had a show with children’s roles for some time.

"We are excited about this addition to this summer's production," she said in the press release.

Auditions for the roles of the young Fiona, the teen Fiona and the young Shrek will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington St., with call-back auditions scheduled at 8 p.m.

Auditions for adult roles in the production will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Little Theater on the San Juan College campus, 4601 College Blvd. in Farmington, with call-back auditions scheduled at 1 p.m.

Those wishing to audition are asked to prepare a memorized monologue and song excerpt. They also are strongly encouraged to bring a headshot photo. If selected for a call-back audition, actors should be prepared to learn and perform a dance audition.
