Otero County Voter Guide: 2022 Primary Election
The 2022 New Mexico primary is set for June 7.
Early voting, absentee in-person voting and mobile voting locations will be open in the weeks prior to June 7.
Absentee in-person voting is scheduled for Monday through Friday beginning May 10 and ends June 3 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Otero County Administration Building, 1101 New York Avenue in Alamogordo. Voting will also take place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on June 4.
Early voting locations
- Otero County Fairgrounds, 401 Fairgrounds Road in Alamogordo Tuesday through Saturday May 21 through June 4 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
- Inn of the Mountain Gods, 287 Carrizozo Canyon in Mescalero from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on June 1 through June 3
- Chaparral Community Center, 427 Ryan Street in Chaparral, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. June 2 through June 4.
Mobile voting locations
Tularosa Public Safety Facility, 609 St. Francis Drive in Tularosa, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on May 21
- Cloudcroft Council Chambers, 201 Burro Avenue in Cloudcroft from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on May 28
On Primary Election Day, there will be 16 voter convenience centers open and two mail ballot precincts.

The two mail ballot precincts are Orogrande Fire Station and Cienega.
The last day to update voter registration or to register to vote in the 2022 New Mexico Primary is May 10.

Voters will determine who of their designated party will appear on the 2022 General Election Ballot in November.
The offices being determined by Otero County voters are U.S. Representatives for Districts 1 and 2, governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, state auditor, state treasurer , public lands commissioner, state house of representatives in districts 51, 53, 54 and 56; two state Supreme Court Justices, Public Education Commissioner for District 7, one 12th Judicial District Judge for Division 2, two magistrate judges, one probate judge, Otero County Sheriff, Otero County Assessor and Otero County Commissioners for Districts 1 and 2.
