FARMINGTON — A 20-year-old Bloomfield man was charged last week with sexual exploitation of a child after being accused of sending nude photographs of his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend to several of her friends.

Andrew Lebas was charged Thursday in Farmington Magistrate Court with manufacturing, possessing and distributing child pornography, all separate felony offenses, as well as extortion and voyeurism of a victim less than 18 years of age.

According to the arrest warrant, the girlfriend's mother told a Farmington police officer on March 28 that Lebas had taken nude photos of her daughter while they used the video chat service Skype.

The mother told police her daughter was not aware that the photos were being taken at the time of the video chat, the warrant states.

The girl told the officer that the photos, which showed the girl's breast and genitalia, were taken without her consent.

She further told the officer that Lebas threatened to send the photos to everyone she knew if she did not continue to have sex with him after they broke up.

She said that she refused and Lebas followed through on his threat, sending the photos to at least one other person, according to the warrant.

Lebas was previously charged in May with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and child abuse in connection to a shooting at a barbecue in Bloomfield.

According to court records, Lebas is accused of shooting David Clemmons, 35, four times at a party at 743 S. Turner St. in Bloomfield.

Clemmons survived the shooting, according to the archives, and Lebas was released on bail pending trial.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Dustin O'Brien said Monday that his office would be filing a motion requesting that Lebas' bail be revoked in the shooting case.

The trial in the shooting case was expected to begin today, court records state, but O'Brien said it will be delayed.

Lebas is currently being held at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center on a $70,000 bond, according to court records.
