Three men charged last week with molestation, rape
FARMINGTON — Three Farmington men, including Clayton Harrison, were charged last week with molestation or rape in unrelated incidents.
Harrison, 24, was charged on Jan. 27 in Farmington Magistrate Court with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor after a 16-year-old girl accused him of touching her inappropriately.
According to the arrest warrant, the girl accused Harrison of touching her genital area over her clothing last summer.
Harrison denied touching the girl, the complaint states, but she is the second girl in the past month to claim Harrison molested her.
Harrison was charged on Jan. 20 in Farmington Magistrate Court with multiple felonies after a 12-year-old girl accused him of touching her genital area several times in the past year.
Harrison also was convicted in December 2005 of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. He was 15 years old at the time.
Attorney Steven Murphy is representing Harrison in both cases.
Murphy said he has not reviewed all of the evidence in the latest case, but he believes Harrison's actions do not rise to criminal behavior.
"It was an innocent touch, and we will defend against those allegations vigorously," he said.
Harrison is currently being held on bond at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center.
Donald Ellison was charged on Jan. 27 in Farmington Magistrate Court with five counts of criminal sexual penetration in the first degree.
He faces up to 90 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
According to the arrest warrant, a 17-year-old girl disclosed to her family on Jan. 25 that Ellison, a relative, had sexually assaulted her repeatedly over the course of several years.
The girl's family allegedly confronted Ellison, 46, over the allegations, and he apologized, saying he knew it was wrong, the warrant states.
The girl told a detective she believes Ellison began raping her when she was approximately 10 years old. Ellison admitted in a statement to police that he raped the girl four times before she was 13 years old, the warrant states.
Ellison is being held at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center on a $120,000 bond, according to court records.
He has not yet been assigned legal representation, according to court records.
And Dominic Begay was charged on Jan. 27 in Farmington Magistrate Court with one count of second-degree criminal sexual penetration, false imprisonment and two counts of battery against a household member.
Begay, 24, is accused of beating and sexually penetrating his wife on Jan. 23 after he found her in their bedroom with another man, according to the arrest warrant.
Begay admitted in a statement to police that he beat his wife, but denied raping her, the warrant states.
Begay was released on bond on Jan. 26, according to court records.
Murphy is also representing Begay. The attorney said he believes the evidence in the case will show there was no criminal sexual penetration.
