Dale "Grumpy" Wilson, 70, of Aztec, passed with family by his side, on Thursday, July 21, 2022. He was born July 27, 1951, in Winnsboro, LA., to Lowell and Mable Wilson. Dale enjoyed being in the wilderness and was an avid hunter, guide, and fisherman. One of his greatest hunts was in the McGaffie National Forest. Hunting with a .50 caliber blackpowder rifle, Dale harvested a state record, 6X6 (309 points) elk at 75 yards. While Dale was a jack of many trades, he retired as an oilfield heavy equipment operator. Dale attended Bloomfield High School, and graduated with his sister Diane in 1970. Dale would later meet and marry his forever wife Marlys. Dale became Pops to her sons, Bart and Bret. In 1980 Dale and Marlys welcomed their only child, Cameron. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlys, parents, Lowell and Mable Wilson, and brother-in-law Ron Bachman. Dale is survived by his sons, Cameron Wilson, Bart (Penny) Law, and Bret Law; grandchildren Desirey, Justin, Tisha, Nicholas, W.C. and Amber; Sisters Linda Bachman, Diane York, and brother, Royce(Beth) Wilson. Dale also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, and many more extended family members. Dale was also a friend "Brother" to many close friends. These friends have shared many hunting and fishing trips, work adventures, and countless BBQ together, which Dale was commonly at the helm of his custom grill. Memorial Service with Pastor Arthur Blevins, Philadelphia Baptist Church, Aztec, NM The family of Grumpy would like to thank his family and friends, for all the prayers, love and support during this time. We would also like to thank the dedicated staff of the ICU dept., San Juan Regional Medical Center.
