Davis, M.C (Marvin) quietly passed away June 20, 2022 with his three surviving children Jo Elaine Lewis, Rebecca Thomey, and Jim Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Lu Williams, his daughter, Marianna /Jim Moss and son-in-law, Ray Lewis. His parents, James Homer and Velma Lee Davis. His brother-in-law’s, Jim Moss, Ray D. Lewis, Joe Balch and his sister, Verna Mae Davis-Cooper. His grandparents Marvin Davis, Maybell Willoughby-Davis, Grover Cleveland Fowler, and Eula Lillie Holt-Fowler. M.C. was born in Sardis, TX in 1926. He had asthma as a child and had to move to Clovis, NM with his aunt & uncle. Work beckoned him to the Copper Mines in the Globe/Miami, AZ area as he worked as a Laborer for Castle Dome. He worked up to a foreman of the filter plant and was a Union President for over 20 years. M.C. retired after 42 years of service. He and Diana moved to Bloomfield, NM. He is survived by his children Jo Elaine Lewis, Rebecca Ruth Thomey (Becky), and James A./Catherine Davis. His brother, James Orvis Davis & his sisters, Dorothy L. Goodwin, and Cassie L. Balch. His 17 grandchildren, Jon D./Rita Lewis, Jim M./Lois Lewis, Joseph N./Donna Lewis, Karen E./Shawn Shropshire, Jarom A. Lewis, Regina A./Woody Johnson, Mary (Anna) Mishler-Bouren, Jerry Lee Mishler II/ Sandy, Paul D./Marcia Thomey, Elizabeth D. Thomey (Liz), Rachel S. Thomey, Beverly M./James E. Lindsay, Shawn H./Monica Scott, Stacy A./Vince Fontana, Janice, Tresa Bogen, and Melissa Cox. His 24 great-grandchildren, 49 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Anna Bouren, Regina Johnson, Shawn Scott, Stacy Fontana, Karen Shropshire, Elizabeth Thomey, Beverly Lindsay, Grandson Jim Lewis, Cory Lewis, Cherie Armenta, and Crystal McBride. We all will miss our dad, grandfather, great-granddad & great-great-grandad. There will be a viewing at 9:00 a.m. before the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bloomfield, NM. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington, NM. Memorial/donations may be made out to the America Cancer Society.
