FARMINGTON — The Piedra Vista-Farmington softball rivalry will be renewed this week when the Lady Scorps host PV Tuesday at the Ricketts Park Softball Fields.

The game, the first of two between the rivals, was originally scheduled for March 31, but was postponed because of weather.

Tuesday will also see the Farmington and PV tennis teams tilt in a crosstown dual. Earlier this season, the PV boys topped the Scorps for the first time in program history, sneaking past Farmington 5-4 in the final of the FHS Invitational.

In track and field, a handful of local athletes will head to Albuquerque on Monday for the Marilyn Sepulveda meet, which is an invitation-only meet pitting the best athletes in the state against each other.

After dropping its first District 1-5A game of the season, losing 4-1 to Miyamura on Saturday, the Farmington baseball team is now tied with the Patriots for the top spot in the district standings. The Scorps will be looking to stay in that top spot with a win when they host Bloomfield Tuesday night at Ricketts Park.
