FARMINGTON — Aztec and Farmington residents will have the opportunity to hear from the candidates for city offices during candidate forums this week.

Leadership San Juan is hosting a candidate forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Farmington Public Library, 2101 Farmington Ave., for Farmington mayor and council candidates. There are two candidates for mayor and two candidates for the City Council. 

Current City Councilor Nate Duckett is running against Roland Berkey for mayor. 

Patrick Manchester is running against Janis Jakino for the District 4 council seat, while Jeanine Bingham-Kelly is running unopposed in District 3.

The Aztec Chamber of Commerce will also host a candidate forum this week for Aztec City Commission candidates. The forum will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Aztec Senior-Community Center, 101 S. Park Ave.

Rosalyn Fry and Joel Barton are running for the District 2 seat. Mark Lewis and incumbent Sheri Rogers are running for the District 5 seat. Victor Snover is running unopposed for the District 4 seat. While the city has districts, the candidates are not required to live within the district the seek to represent.
