The two men also allegedly broke into the residence and "ransacked" the home, taking an empty gun safe valued at $200. The windshield of a 1966 Ford pickup truck was also smashed during the incident.

The victim told a San Juan County Sheriff's Office deputy the stolen property is worth $8,600. That included three tool boxes full of personalized tools engraved with his name and a relative's name and valued at about $6,000.

A handgun valued at $1,200 and an air compressor valued at $400 were among the items stolen. The affidavit does not state whether the items were recovered.
