Navajo Prep was blown out at home by 1A Escalante 52-12 Friday night.

The Eagles fell behind 20-6 heading into halftime and were unable to mount any sort of comeback in the second half.

"They were just overall a better team," said Navajo Prep head coach Rod Denetso. "They had a lot of speed. It was a good test and let us see where we are. We kind of hung around in the first half, but then they just ran away. They had a phenomenal quarterback who could play at the 4A or 5A level. He was a great athlete."

Mikaele Mauga and Izaac Eredia scored the touchdowns for Navajo Prep.

The Eagles slipped to 2-2 with the loss and will continue their season next Saturday on the road at 3A Santa Fe Indian School.
