The meeting, slated to begin at 9 a.m. at the Luna County Courthouse, 700 S. Silver Avenue, will begin with a service award presentation and Kelly Kuenstler, county manager, delivering the oath of office to Luna County Detention Center employees and Sean Blaine, chief of Florida Volunteer Fire Department.
Lieutenant Jon Mooradian will then deliver an update on Central Dispatch, followed by a presentation on the Humane Society by Sande Foster and an update on MMH by chief executive officer Steve Westenhofer.
Following reports from the county manager and elected officials, commissioners will consider several items of regular business, including payroll, accounts payable and budget transfers and increases.
After the regular business, the commission will consider a new version of the Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan previously passed in late 2011. The plan prioritizes county projects with estimates of associated costs.
Commissioners will then consider lending their support, via resolution, to the 2013 legislative priorities of the New Mexico Association of Counties.
The priorities include disclosing sales data for all real property, authorizing local government royalties for database access, decriminalization of minor traffic offenses, funding for rural emergency medical services, mandating sales of delinquent properties and expanding the list of restricted fireworks.
Remaining agenda items include a resolution urging the state legislature to fund regional water plans with $400,000, Deming Amateur Radio Club funding at $400 and the appointment of a Starmax Advisory Committee.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8.
