Homeland Security Investigations and local agency announced at a news conference Wednesday that a six-person task force will re-examine the disappearance of Tara Calico.
Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston says interest in returning the case was sparked after a conversation he had with the victim's sister.
Ninteen-year-old Calico went missing after going for her routine 34-mile bike ride on N.M. 47 from Rio Communities in October 1988. The University of New Mexico-Valencia student's disappearance has baffled investigators for years since very little clues were left behind.
According to the Albuquerque Journal (http://bit.ly/15MKI2j), the task force will include people from federal Homeland Security Investigations, New Mexico State Police and county and local law enforcement.
