Anthony John Escojeda

Series Honor man Anthony John Escojeda entered the world's most rigorous boot camp with aspirations of becoming a marine. He endured 13 weeks of grueling physical conditioning and mental fatigue, mastering marksmanship, drill, military customs and courtesies and martial arts.

His training culminated in a team work exercise known as the crucible in which his platoon covered 53 miles on foot in three days, averaging two hours of sleep per night and one meal a day.

Pfc. Escojeda graduate April 25 with extreme pride and selfless devotion to his country.

A 2007 graduate of Aztec High School, he is the son of Robert and Sharon Escojeda, of Aztec.
