FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department is accepting participants for Women Against Crime, a 10-week program designed to create safety awareness by providing women the tools they need to identify and prevent criminal activity.

The course will cover topics including sexual assault, domestic violence, cybercrimes, travel safety, drug recognition, gangs, home security, school safety, suspicious packages and bomb threats and dispatch communications.

The class will also offer three weeks of hands-on training, including self-defense techniques and gun safety.

Classes begin on Sept. 18. They will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Farmington Police Department.
