FARMINGTON — A 23-year-old man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of prowling outside a home at 1401 Gulledge Road.

According to a police report, Farmington police officers were dispatched to the residence at 2:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a shirtless man attempting to open a bedroom window.

A resident told police his mother woke him up after hearing noises outside her bedroom window. The resident said the man, later identified as Elbert Begaye, tried to open the bedroom window and then left and laid down on the roof of his truck, which was parked outside.

Police found Begaye laying in the garden outside the house and booked him at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center on charges of prowling and being a peeping Tom.

Court records indicate charges have not yet been filed against Begaye.
