FARMINGTON — A garage sale today will benefit three people, including two area teachers, injured in a car wreck in California.

Shiprock's Tsé Bit'a'í Middle School teachers Sharon Diassan and Ramsey Felis were seriously injured in a July 8 crash on Calif. Highway 65 near Bakersfield, Calif.

Their car, traveling north, attempted to pass a tractor-trailer on the two-lane highway and was hit by a southbound tractor-trailer, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.

Marybelle Balasuit, wife of special education teacher Joel Balasuit, was also injured in the wreck.

Felis, Diassan and Balasuit were transported to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. Their injuries include broken limbs, internal injuries and head trauma, the CHP spokesman said.

The garage sale is from 7:30 a.m. to noon today at 2312 18th St. in Farmington.
