FARMINGTON — A comedy show and concert Saturday in Shiprock will benefit people affected by the Assayii Lake Fire.
Walking the Healing Path Inc. and Navajo United Way will present "Coming Together to Rise Above" starting at 7 p.m. at the Phil L. Thomas Performing Arts Center on State Route 504 in Shiprock.
Performers include comedians James and Ernie, Pax Harvey and Adrianne Chalepah, basketball entertainer J-Stylez, musicians The Plateros, James Bilagody, Billy Crawley II and Julstar, and Miss Inter-Tribal Ceremonial Queen Cody Jansen.
Walking the Healing Path founders Ernest Tsosie Jr. and John Tsosie will serve as masters of ceremonies at the event.
The Assayii Lake Fire started on June 13 and consumed 14,712 acres in the Ch'ooshgai Mountains on the Navajo Nation before reaching 100 percent containment on July 3.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the concert, and show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12, but the price for the first 100 people will be $10.
