FARMINGTON — The New Mexico Department of Transportation on Thursday started a pavement preservation project on U.S. Highway 64 near Blanco.
The work spans approximately seven miles between mile post 81.8 and 87.8, around seven miles east of Blanco, according to a press release from the department.
Cutler Repaving Inc. of Lawrence, Kan., has been contracted for the project.
Due to the road work, motorists can expect minor delays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The work involves one lane closures with a flagger and pilot car operation.
The work is scheduled to be completed in mid-July.
Drivers should proceed with caution through the work zone and watch for construction personnel. Drivers should also observe traffic control signs, and the speed will be reduced in the area.
Updates will be posted on the New Mexico Department of Transportation's road conditions website, www.nmroads.com
