FARMINGTON — A Nenahnezad man pleaded guilty to arson Wednesday morning, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Gregory Bitsilly, 28, was arrested in March and charged with arson. He was indicted in April.

Bitsilly reportedly set fire to the residence he shared with his wife and children on March 24. He allegedly set the fire because his wife was attempting to leave him for being physically abusive.

The residence and everything inside it was destroyed.

In court on Wednesday, Bitsilly admitted to setting the fire.

He faces between two years and three years and four months in federal prison, followed by supervised release. He is currently in federal custody awaiting his sentencing hearing, which has not yet been scheduled.
