FARMINGTON — A Shiprock man pleaded guilty on Friday to aggravated sexual assault.
Vernon J. Atcitty, 28, will be sentenced to eight years in federal prison and will be required to register as a sex offender afterward, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Atcitty was arrested on Feb. 26 for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on Feb. 22 in Shiprock.
