FARMINGTON — The Comcast Foundation last week announced the 2014-2015 recipients of its annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program Awards.

"This year's scholarship winners demonstrate exemplary commitment to leadership in both their classrooms and community," said Chris Dunkeson, vice president and general manager for Comcast in New Mexico, in a press release from the company.

The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program provides $1,000 scholarships to students who strive to achieve their potential and are role models and catalysts for positive change in their communities, according to the press release. The program also demonstrates the importance of civic involvement and the value the business community places on civic involvement.

This year, $34,000 in scholarship funding was awarded to 25 New Mexico students, with 24 students receiving $1,000 each, including Caroline Moss of Farmington High School and Nikayla Potter of Aztec High School.

To date, Comcast has awarded more than $21.6 million to nearly 21,000 Leaders and Achievers Scholarship winners across the country.
