FARMINGTON — Police are investigating a burglary early Saturday morning at the Burritos Y Mas restaurant east of Farmington.

The owner of Burritos Y Mas Dos, 5658 U.S. Highway 64, arrived at the restaurant and noticed the door was broken and several items had been stolen, said San Juan County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Kevin Burns.

The owner reported the burglary to police at about 5:30 a.m. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, Burns said.

At about noon, New Mexico State Police called the sheriff's office to report officers had stopped a car near Albuquerque and one of its occupants admitted to the burglary at Burritos Y Mas. New Mexico State Police officers stopped the car at about 6:30 a.m. at milemarker 10 along U.S. Highway 550, Burns said.
