FARMINGTON — A feud at the Animas Valley Mall in Farmington left one man injured Thursday evening.

According to Farmington police Cpl. Travis Spruell, a man was hit in the head with a metal chain in the parking lot outside of the mall shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday.

The man's identify was not released Thursday.

Spruell said the incident appears to have been part of an ongoing feud between the victim and an assailant.

Spruell said the person who reported the incident told police it occurred near Sears, but police found the victim near the Tilt Arcade.

The victim was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center with lacerations to his head that were not life threatening.

After the incident, one of the people who reported the incident fled to the Volero gas station across from Albertsons because he was afraid someone was chasing him, Spruell said.

As of 8 p.m. Thursday, no had been arrested in connection to the incident, and police were investigating the incident.
