FARMINGTON — Travis Brown, the Farmington teenager with autism who went missing Thursday, was found Friday night in Albuquerque, according to Farmington police.

Farmington police Cpl. Roque Velarde said Brown, 17, wandered into a gas station between 7:30 and 8 p.m. and told the clerk he was lost.

The clerk called the police, and Brown's family drove down to Albuquerque to pick him up.

Brown has Asperger syndrome, which is a mild form of autism.

In September, Brown was the subject of a search that involved multiple law enforcement agencies. He hitchhiked to Durango, Colo., spent the night at a Colorado couple's home and was found the next day going to the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and Museum in Durango.
