Riverfest: The annual event takes place May 23 through 25 at River Reach Terrace, located at the corner of Scott Avenue and San Juan Boulevard and at Animas Park, off of Browning Parkway. Riverfest is a festival of music, food and entertainment put on by the River Reach Foundation to celebrate the local rivers. There is a 10K and 5K run and walk. Balloon Rally: The seventh annual San Juan River Balloon Rally features about 20 balloons including balloons of special shapes, which will take flight from the Bloomfield Soccer Fields and fly down the San Juan River. Aztec Highland Games and Celtic Music Festival: Every year, Aztec celebrates the culture of the Scottish Highlands with live Celtic music and athletic competitions such as the caber toss, hammer throw and braemar stone. Dancers show off Scottish and Irish dances as members of various Scottish clans provide history lessons at their tents. Riverside Park, at the end of Lightplant Road, is filled with bagpipe music.
