FARMINGTON — The city of Farmington's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department and the Downtown Association are hosting the second annual Reindeer Romp and North Pole Stroll on Dec. 21. Registration is underway.

The Romp is a 5K race, and the Stroll is a two-mile walk. Both take place through historic downtown Farmington and begin and end at Orchard Park. The event starts at 3:30 p.m.

The cost is $15 and includes a T-shirt. The registration deadline is Tuesday at 10 p.m. Late registration takes place Wednesday and Thursday for an additional $10 fee.

In addition to the walk/run, live holiday music and winter carnival games will add to the holiday cheer, and hot apple cider and holiday cookies will be on hand. Award presentations and a chance to see Santa will top off the event.

"We've changed the course this year, and we're very excited about it," said Recreation Superintendent Shana Reeves. "This is an effort to bring people downtown, get them exercising and (having) fun."

Register at the Farmington Recreation Center, 1101 Fairgrounds Road, or visit fmtn.org/prca. Call 505-599-1184 for more information.
