FARMINGTON — The Farmington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs has selected Stacie Voss as the executive director for the city's soon-to-open regional animal shelter, according to a department document.

The new shelter will open mid-November, and Voss will begin work in December, according to the document.

Voss comes to the position with eight year of experience. In the last four years, she worked at the Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha, first as an animal care supervisor and then as an animal medical supervisor.

By the time she left, she had been promoted to director of veterinary services, overseeing three departments and 25 to 30 employees, according to the document.

Under her tenure in Nebraska, the society increased its live release rate to 72 percent, at least 10 percent greater that it was previously, according to the document.
