BLOOMFIELD — People can now enjoy a workout when enjoying the leafy river-walk trail at the end of Bloomfield's South First Street.
As part of its push to promote community health, San Juan Regional Medical Center donated fitness equipment along the San Juan River in Verde del Rio San Juan Park. A ribbon-cutting on Friday made it official.
Bloomfield is now the third city in the county to receive complimentary outdoors exercise equipment. The hospital also gave Kiwanis Park in Farmington and Riverside Park in Aztec exercise stations earlier this year.
"We believe in health and healthy living," said Rick Wallace, hospital president and CEO, in a prepared statement. "Healthcare doesn't just happen at the hospital, and it doesn't just happen once in a while. It happens in our neighborhoods and parks, too."
