FARMINGTON — A woman was shot in the face at a housing complex in Fruitland Thursday morning.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken to an undisclosed hospital and her condition wasn't released Thursday afternoon, according to a news release from FBI spokesman Frank Fisher.

Benally may be driving a dark crew-cab pickup truck, according to the release. He is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. His hair and eyes are brown, according to the FBI.

Benally was convicted in April of misdemeanor assault on a peace officer in Farmington Magistrate Court, according to a state court website.
