FARMINGTON — One stop for car teams in the Fireball Run Internet show has been canceled.
The arrest of Jack Arnold, vineyard manager for the Wines of San Juan in Turley, prompted the series to cut the vineyard from its itinerary.
The car adventure series is scheduled to film Monday in San Juan County.
Arnold was arrested Sept. 11 on suspicion of two counts of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, resisting an officer, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report a car crash. The incident began when he allegedly chased his wife's truck after seeing another man behind the wheel with his wife in the passenger seat.
A 19-mile chase ensued through Navajo Dam, until both cars collided in a ditch along N.M. Highway 511.
J Sanchez, producer for the Florida-based show, confirmed Wednesday that the vineyard was no longer a scheduled stop.
"It was decided by our production team that we were going to change the activity," Sanchez said. "We thought we would give them the time to heal. We feel dearly for the (Arnold) family, but it's not time to play. It's time to heal."
Marcia Arnold, who has run the vineyard with husband David since 2002, also confirmed that her family's business would no longer be a destination for the show.
"I was called by the producer on Monday," she said. "He expressed regret over it but said it would be bad press for the show."
