FARMINGTON — Police and firefighters on Saturday will help parents prepare the necessary information if their children ever go missing.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Farmington's San Juan Plaza, 3030 East Main St., parents will put together identification cards with their child's name, picture, fingerprints, medical information and a DNA sample.
Craig Yoshimoto, the onsite property manager, said the ID cards will save time if a child goes missing. Everything the police need to search for a child will be readily available in one place.
Yoshimoto said he talked to tenants in the plaza and felt like there was a need for somebody to help parents create the ID cards for children. He hopes to eventually expand the service to include ID cards for adults, including people with Alzheimer's disease.
