FARMINGTON — A Shiprock man pleaded guilty in federal court in Albuquerque to sexually assaulting a young girl.
Bruce Hamilton, 77, will be sentenced to two to five years in prison as a condition of his plea agreement, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Mexico.
The victim told an FBI investigator that Hamilton assaulted her about 20 times when she was 12 and 13 years old, according to court documents. The assaults happened in Shiprock between August 2010 and December 2011.
Herbert Ben Sr., a 63-year-old Shiprock man, pleaded guilty last month to sexually assaulting the same girl. He was also sentenced to two to five years in prison.
Herbert Ben Sr., and Bruce Hamilton's sentencing hearings haven't been scheduled.
Rosabelle Ben, a 58-year-old Shiprock woman, was also arrested for suspicion of sexually assaulting the girl.
She has pleaded not guilty and her charges are pending.
The FBI said in court documents that Rasabelle Ben forced the girl to perform sex acts on her husband, Ben. Sr., and Hamilton in exchange for alcohol.
